Chincoteague Island Secrets Revealed

If you didn't succumb to the affliction of horse-craziness as a youngster, then the odds are high that you know neither where Chincoteague Island is, nor why it is important. So we're here to fill you in on the secrets that make the seven-mile distance of Chincoteague Island irresistible to over a million visitors each year.

Yes, one of those secrets has to do with horses, which have inhabited Chincoteague and its neighbor Assateague Island for longer than anything can remember. The private lies in how the horses, which are truly pony-sized, came to run free on two rather inhospitable (for horses, anyway) strips of sand and marsh where fresh water is at a superior and the grass comes already salted.

HOT DOG FLAVORED

If, on the other hand, you had succumbed to horse-craziness in your youth, you'd know all about the classic children's book Misty of Chincoteague, published in 1947 and largely responsible for putting Chincoteague Island on the fast track to tourism super-stardom. In her book, Marguerite Henry attributed the existence of the Chincoteague ponies to the shipwreck of a Spanish galleon in the 1600s. While the more likely story is that today's ponies are descendants of ones turned loose by 18th century island settlers to graze in the islands' vast expanses of marsh grass, no one knows for sure.

That may be one Chincoteague Island private forever lost to history, but we're going to delineate a few more which will add a bit of extra island zest to your visit.

The delicately flavored, slightly salty Chincoteague oysters, a specialty at the Island's favorite island eating preparing The village Restaurant, truly do taste dissimilar from oysters you'll have everywhere else. Why? Because all oysters take on the flavor of their surroundings. Fresh Chincoteague oysters will give you a true taste of what it means to live on Chincoteague!

Assateague Island's beaches, just a very short bridge east of the Town of Chincoteague, are truly some of the truly great beaches about which you've never heard. Standing on a stretch of undeveloped Assateague waterfront, which seems to enlarge endlessly in whether direction, you'll be facing an expanse of open ocean which reaches the shores of Europe. Behind you will be sand dune upon sand dune, and if you're in the right place, you'll be able to spot the Assateague Island Light House, which has stood sentinel on the entire scene since 1867. No cabanas, hot dog stands, or boardwalk with souvenir hawkers. Just you, the sea, the sand, and the sky.

The weekly National seaboard campfire put on during the summer by the National Park aid rangers who mouth the Assateague Island National seaboard will give you a opening to lie on the beach under the stars munching on your toasted marshmallows and filling your head with tales of Blackbeard the Pirate's lost treasure as the Assateague Light House beam searches the darkness overhead. (The private location of Blackbeard's treasure, however, remains unrevealed.)

Secret treasure may still be yours, however, if you stop in at Payne's Sea Treasures, a former hot dog stand on Ridge Road in Chincoteague. This odd preparing has evolved into one of the most breathtaking curio shops you'll find during your life. If your shell seeking efforts on Assateague have come up empty, Payne's can provide you with beach glass or any whole of shells-- horseshoe crab shells in particular. Over the street from Payne's is a 20-foot tall Viking statue. Payne's Sea Treasure's late proprietor Mr. Capt'n Bob Payne purchased the statue from a defunct Muffler Man store.

Chincoteague has lots more secrets to uncover, but we'll let you have the fun of discovering them for yourself!

All About Weathervane Sea Scallops - The Jumbo Scallop

Scallops are known for their sweet, fresh tasting meat. They are popular, but they haven't really achieved the heights of fame such as salmon or even crab. Scallops are often underrated; although considered a delicacy, some would say they are an acquired taste.  Many people don't really know much about scallops and even the name confuses them.

There are many different types of scallops; however, all scallops are mollusks and all scallops are bivalves. This means they have two part shells and both valves are usually symmetrical along the hinge. Clams, oysters and mussels are also bivalves. All bivalves are aquatic. Scallops can be found in all oceans of the world. They are often highly prized as a food. All scallops have a large adductor muscle which is more developed than that of oysters because scallops swim. They are the only migratory bivalve actually. Scallops are often caught by hand and thus named diver scallops. This method of fishing, as opposed to dredging is not only more environmentally sound, it also enhances the flavor of the scallop, because they don't become enmeshed in sand.

WATER AND CHOCOLATE STARFISH

Weathervane scallops also known as Pacific weathervane scallops or Patinopecten caurinus, is found in the eastern North Pacific Ocean.  They are commercially fished by a small fleet of trawlers which fish from the Yakutat to the eastern Aleutians of Alaska. Weathervane scallops are larger than other species of scallops. They grow to be about eight inches in diameter or more. As with other scallops, these have the ability to swim by ejecting water from their shells which allows them to travel 20 feet or more. However, they cannot swim for more than 15-20 seconds at a time. These scallops can be found in large beds on rock and sand at depths form 120 to 600 feet.

Weathervane scallops eat phytoplankton, detritus and zooplankton mainly. Their main predators include star fish, crabs, polychaete worms and boring sponges. Weathervane scallops have developed many jewel-like eyes which can detect changes in light intensity in moving objects. They also have small tentacles which are sensitive to odor and changes in water temperature. These adaptations help keep them out of danger from predators.

Learn the separate Ways of Cooking Bratwursts

Bratwursts are basically German-style sausages that use either pork, veal, or beef as a major ingredient. To give these special sausages a uniquely palatable taste, habitancy usually add nutmeg, ginger, and pepper to spice up their flavors. More often than not, these sausages are also served with sauerkraut, which is basically a special cabbage dish, sandwiched together in a quarterly bread roll. Aside from this, there are still many other ways of cooking bratwursts. Three of the most common ways of doing this is either by adding beer, by grilling it, or by cooking it in water.

Cooking Bratwursts in Beer

HOT DOG FLAVORED

From the many distinct ways of cooking bratwursts, one of the simplest and most bright ways of doing so is by using beer. More importantly, a tablespoon of butter, ¼-sliced sweet onion, and four bratwursts are needed to cook this tasty dish. In a regular-sized pot, pour in at least two bottles of beers, before adding butter and allowing it to melt into a syrupy form. Wait until the liquid turns very hot before adding the sliced onions and German sausages inside the pot. Allow the syrup to dry until it sticks wholly to the sausages. Using quarterly hot dog buns, place the bratwursts inside the buns and then top them each with sauerkraut for a truly tasty and satisfying meal.

How to Grill Bratwursts

Aside from cooking the bratwursts in beer, habitancy can also make something special out of this dish by grilling them. After the beer has turned into a syrupy substance, take off the sausages from the pot and then place them on top of a charcoal grill. Allow them to stay for at least four to five minutes for each side until they are wholly cooked. Make special sandwiches once again, this time using baguettes or hotdog buns, before adding cooked onions and mustard for richer taste and flavor.

In the meantime, a skillet can also be used in this straightforward process if ever there is no grill ready at home. Place the bratwursts in a skillet together with the syrupy beer mix, then wait for a few minutes until the liquid part of the dish wholly evaporates and turn into a flavor-rich coating for the sausages. Once again, use hot dog buns or other forms of bread wherein the sausages can fit perfectly well. Add mustard, onions, as well as other extra flavorings for a tastier and more delightful outcome.

Cooking Bratwursts in Water

For individuals who do not want their bratwursts in beer, they can use water instead to cook their sausages. Using a frying pan, fill at least half of it with water before putting in the sausages. To make the cooking process as level as possible, be sure not to soak the entire sausages under the water. Furthermore, use a fork to make some holes on the bratwursts, which will allow them to cook properly from the inside out. Put the stove switch into medium heat, and then cover the pan until the liquid inside wholly dries out. After a few more minutes, take off the cover and wait for the sausages to cook wholly before adding in the onions, mustard, as well as other flavorings.

Easy Chili method

For centuries chili has been the southwest's favorite dish! during the 1880s it was first invented by the Spanish Canary Islanders, in the city of San Antonio, Texas, which they founded. The versatile and assorted dish can be enjoyed on its own, on a hot dog, on fries, mixed with mac 'n cheese, with corn chips, and the list goes on. Texas-style chili contains no beans and may even be made with no other vegetables whatsoever besides chili peppers. To be honest, my favorite way to have chili is on its own. I like having the flavor of a good chili in full. My kids think the best way is poured over hot fries or corn chips, and then covered in cheese. It's not very healthy so I try not to make chili fries for them unless it's a special occasion. Of course there is no limit to chili - if you love it Hot add extra fresh chilies or chili powder and if it's too hot then a nice big dollop of sour cream go great to tone down the spicy. Every person thinks their chili is the best, and I think that's what makes it special.

Below is my most used and loved chili recipe.

Big Pigs in a Blanket - making an exquisite Meal With Hot Dogs, Cheese and Crescent Roll Dough

Pigs in a blanket aren't just appetizers. They can be a meal! My house lovingly calls this meal, "Pigs in a Binkie". Why? Because these pigs are Full Size so they need a full-sized blanket. This appetizer is a Meal! You can feed a house of four with this treat.

The raw materials:

HOT DOG FLAVORED

1 8-pack Kosher hot dogs. Koshers have a good potential meat, and they don't "Blow-out" and crack open like cheap hotdogs do. 1 tube of uncooked crescent rolls. You can get these from the refrigerated foods isle at the supermarket. 1.5 lbs medium sharp cheddar cheese. Cut it up into long strips at about 1/2" in width.

Directions:

Preheated your oven to 375F (190C).
Unroll, and cut off your raw crescent roll dough. The individual pieces may be a bit misshapen from the tube they were packed in, so try to mold each back into their former triangle shape, then lay them flat on your clean and cool kitchen counter.
Wipe any moisture from the packaging of the dogs, then slice each, lengthwise, approximately all the way through. When you're done, each dog will be "hinged" but still connected.
Place your sliced cheese chunks into the opportunity of each of the sliced dogs so that the cheese fills the entire length of the crack of the dog.
Next, set each dog onto the longest side of each raw-dough crescent roll triangle. Roll it up until the other end point of the dough is once again touching the widest side that you started with. As you roll, hold the dogs tightly to keep the cheese in place. Then press down, gently, to seal the dough together. Let the dogs rest in this position, with the seam at the bottom, until you are complete rolling the rest.
When finished, place each dog on an ungreased baking sheet, at least an inch (2cm) apart to allow room for dough expansion, then place the sheet on the town rack of your oven. Set your timer for 8 minutes. After that first 8 minutes, turn the pan nearby and halt cooking for someone else 5 to 7 minutes. If the crescent rolls appear to be browning to soon, turn off the oven and let the residual heat halt the baking until the rolls appear golden brown.

When complete, you will have an extra-large hotdog treat with yummy cheddar cheese that will only add to your delight.

If you would like to get creative with the type of hog dogs you use, select precooked kielbasa, Italian sausage, or even bratwurst. All make exquisite Big Pigs!

Have minute piggies in your home? Make minute pigs with cocktail wieners! Instead of using the full sized raw crescent dough triangle, cut each of those in half. Each of those halfs wraps a small cocktail wiener perfectly.

Have a hankering for a different kind of cheese? How about jalapeno, monterey jack, or extra sharp? They are all an exquisite taste expanding to an already awesome idea. Experiment for what tastes good to you.

Do you feel the need to dress them up even more? At our house, we also prepare store-bought ranch dressing and honey mustard for dipping, but you can select anything you like for added flavor.

Enjoy!

Garlic - The Left Footprint of Satan

Some facts and folklore about garlic:

Garlic is a member of the same house as the onion, leek and shallot. The name comes from an Old English word that means 'spear leek'. It is opinion to have originated in southeast Asia. It has been used in culinary and remedial applications for at least 6,000 years. China is by far the largest producer. In 2005 China produced 23 billion pounds of garlic, 75% of the world's total production. There is an aged Christian myth that says when Satan left the organery of Eden, garlic sprouted out of his left footprint. Some have said that if a clove of garlic is crushed and rubbed on the sole of your foot that you will palpate the taste of garlic on your tongue after a half hour or so. Is a natural blood thinner and huge consumption of it can lead to bleeding disorders. Garlic as well as onions can be toxic to dogs and cats. Contains natural antibiotic and anti-fungal compounds. These compounds are released from the clove after it is crushed, but quickly break down in palpate with air. The sharp, hot flavor of raw garlic is caused by the breaking down of the cellular walls when garlic is chopped, crushed or minced. This releases varied sulfur compounds which account for the sharp flavor. These compounds are removed when garlic is cooked, thus causing the garlic to mellow in flavor. 'Garlic breath' that occurs after eating garlic is not only caused by residue of the garlic left in the mouth. It is the result of the digestion of the garlic and the odor is exhaled straight through the lungs. Any attempts at sweetening garlic breath will not indubitably stop it, only mask it. In the United States, it was found only in ethnic dishes until the 1930's. Slang terms for garlic in the early 20th century were Bronx Vanilla and Italian Perfume. Gangsters in the first half of the 20th century would rub crushed garlic cloves onto bullets they loaded into their guns. If anyone that was shot survived, they were likely to construct a serious infection from a garlic-rubbed bullet. The smaller the piece, the stronger the flavor. So when you use it, the smaller you mince it the more you'll taste it. Because of its odor, garlic is sometimes referred to as The Stinking Rose. Why a 'Rose', no one seems to know.

Food Trials for Dog Food Allergies

Dog food allergies catalogue for about 20 percent of all dog allergies. The most tasteless indication of illness of a food related allergy in dogs is itchy skin especially on feet, legs, armpits, ears, face and anus. Hair loss from biting and scratching, hot spots, and skin infections can be repercussions of an untreated food allergy. There are many ingredients that can cause food related allergies in dogs. These are but not restricted to;beef, chicken, eggs, wheat, corn, fish and soy.

Before treating a food allergy you must cure any secondary infections or conditions that are occurring such as skin infections, mange, yeast infections, etc. Once all of these are cured then a food trial can begin.

HOT DOG FLAVORED

Most allergies are related with a particular protein of carbohydrate that is in the food or treats the dog is eating. A food trial or elimination diet consists of feeding the dog a food containing a protein source and carbohydrates that the dog has never had before. The trial consists of twelve weeks of only this food. This means no treats, rawhide or any other type of dog chew (pig ears, bully sticks, etc.), flavored medications, toys or toothpaste of any kind. If the food for the elimination diet has a version in a can you can use bits of this as treats. The dog must not roam giving them entrance to eating things in the yard that may cause these symptoms. I think you get the idea, you do not have to quarantine the dog but make sure the diet is all they are eating or playing with. At the end of the trial the dog is reintroduced to the food they were given to begin with to confirm the allergen is in the food.

The cure for these allergies is avoidance of the items that aggravated them in the first place. Short term relief for the symptoms can be achieved straight through the used of antihistamines and steroids but the only cure is straight through avoidance of the nasty ingredients. At this time your veterinarian may prescribe a particular type of food to put your dog on or you can study a homemade diet. If you pick to use a homemade diet it can afford you the potential to control exactly everything that goes into the food. Market dog foods are not bound by law to list every ingredient on the pet food label. If you go the homemade route make sure your recipe contains all the nutrients your dog needs.

Allergies in dogs seem to be more prevalent these days that ever before. With food allergies at twenty percent of all allergy causes it is a very viable avenue to pursue if your dog is suffering. Allergic reactions can occur due to new foods being introduced so talk to your veterinarian if development your dog food and supervene their recommendations to avoid recurrence.

Choosing the Right Beach or Destination Wedding Favor

Are you planning a beach wedding but are wondering what types of beach wedding favors are appropriate for such a setting? Well, you are not alone as many couples choose to have their wedding ceremony and their wedding reception on the beach or at a venue that is situated right along the ocean. The scenery is beautiful and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach is a calming presence during the romantic exchange of vows. But you may be wondering what types of favors are available for you to use. However, this issue should not be a discouraging one - it creates the perfect opportunity to give out fun, beach themed wedding favors to all the guests. It is probably smart to avoid giving out anything that might melt in the hot sun such as chocolate, candy, or even candles but there are still many beach wedding favors available for you to choose from.

The size and cost of the beach wedding favors will depend on your budget, the number of invited guests, and whether it is a destination wedding or the bride and groom actually live close to the beach. Typically, a destination wedding will have fewer guests. However, it is likely that those guests have invested a considerable amount of time and money traveling to the wedding - so they should get something a bit nicer and more personalized. Larger weddings with many guests, generally call for smaller, more generalized gifts.

WATER AND CHOCOLATE STARFISH

Basically, anything having to do with the sand, sun, or surf will be appropriate. Miniature items are always cute and endearing. Look for things like scented soaps, picture frames, note pads, coasters, bottle openers, wine stoppers, or even cookie cutters shaped like seashells, starfish, dolphins, palm trees, sail boats, beach buckets, flip-flops or boats. One or more smaller wedding favors can be put into a petite treasure chest, a tiny beach bag, or perhaps a novelty beach bucket or imitation clamshell. Beach wedding favors that help to keep guests cool, including personalized fans with the date of the wedding and the name of the couple, or an umbrella to ward off the sun are beach wedding favors that are sure to be appreciated - even after the wedding day as they are items that can be used time and again.

For destination weddings or smaller groups, the beach wedding favors can be taken to the next level. Select normal-sized or even oversized canvas beach bags or beach pails and fill them with an assortment of items such as a beach towel, flip flops, a sun visor or straw beach hat, lip balm, sunscreen, reusable water bottle and a disposable camera. A cute touch is to have the items coordinate with the colors of the wedding. By then adding a raffia bow and a few seashells you will have a very impressive beach wedding favor for all of your special guests.

Regardless of where you get married if you plan on using a beach theme for your wedding you want to have the appropriate favors to coordinate with that theme. By being creative you can definitely find some fun beach wedding favors that your guests are sure to love.

Cooking Italian Sausage - Sealing In The Juices For tasty Flavor

Italian sausage is made of pork and regularly contains anise or fennel. There must be less than 35% fat and more than 85% meat. It can be hot, sweet (which is often flavored with basil) or mild and is regularly grilled and enjoyed with vegetables. There is also kielbasa, which is white, and this comes raw and unsmoked. It is boiled or cooked and similar in flavor to the Italian variety.

Italian sausage needs to be kept in the refrigerator until you need it and then you should prick it a few times using a fork before cooking, else the sausages might explode in the heat. Cook them until the internal temperature is 160 degrees F to ensure they are safe to eat. This ingredient should be pink and fleshy without sliminess or odor.

HOT DOG FLAVORED

The best way to seal in the juices is to make sure the sausages do not cook for too long. They do have to be 160 degrees F inside but you can select from assorted cooking methods. Either cook them dry and fast or cook them gradually in liquid for the best results.

Different Cooking Methods

Grilling is a great way to cook this ingredient and you can put them in a pot with water, chicken bouillon granules, beer, and a bay leaf and bring the mixture to a simmer. Once the water starts to simmer replacement the sausages to the grill and cook them for a incorporate of minutes per side or until they are done.

If you want to bake them, you can cut them in half lengthwise when they are freezing (or when thawed but this is trickier), then pierce them and brown them on each side. Put them in a dish with marinara sauce and some grated mozzarella, then bake for twenty minutes at 375 degrees F or until they are cooked through. Sprinkle parsley over the top and serve.

You can braise Italian sausages in a crockpot too. Put a pound of halved links in a crockpot with quarter of a cup of sherry, a tablespoon of soy sauce, two cups of beer or water, a bay leaf and two cloves of garlic in your crockpot, then cook on high for two hours. Turn the heat down to low and cook them until they are done.

To braise them, saute them in an ovenproof pot or skillet, and then add a sliced fennel bulb, a sliced onion, and a bay leaf. Use half a cup each of chicken broth and red wine to deglaze the pot, then cover it and bake for half an hour at 375 degrees F or until the sausages are done.

If you prefer to fry your Italian sausages, prick them and cut them in half. Fry them in hot oil for about five minutes or until they are golden brown, then drain them on paper towels and serve with cheese, onions, bacon, and whatever else you like, on hoagie rolls or hot dog buns.

Easy Homemade Dog Treats

Many dog owners make easy homemade dog treats as a way to show their dog love or to use as an incentive while training.

Dog treats made in your kitchen can range from simple to elaborate. Some wish only a exiguous or so using raw, prepackaged or leftover cooked foods and minimal ingredients, while others involve establishment and mixing some ingredients, then cooking or baking them.

HOT DOG FLAVORED

Let's start with the simplest treats first, ones that consist of only ingredient.

Meat-based treats

Hot dogs or salami sausages that are cut into small pieces make very easy homemade dog treats. If you are condition conscious, then look for the organic kind with low sodium. They are especially good for putting in a plastic baggie and doling out while training. Frozen raw chicken wings can serve as singular treats for larger dogs. They are also good for helping keep a dog's teeth clean. (Raw chicken bones appear to be okay for dogs to eat; it's the cooked kind that can splinter and cause problems). Raw beef marrow or oxtail bones are also a good treat that help keep plaque off teeth. Bones range in size from about two to four inches in diameter so they can be fed to any size dog. Leftover cooked meats can be cut up and fed as well and can also be good for training purposes. Our German Shepherd mix, Comet, often gets pieces of jerky when we go hiking. It's tough retention his nose out of our backpacks when we sit down!
Fruit or vegetable-based

You can pretty much call these Free homemade dog treats since your dog is likely to only eat a small portion.

Slices of fruit and singular berries are items you might like to try with your dog. Comet enjoys apple slices on most days and will sometimes eat pieces of banana, mango, melon, orange, peach or lap up strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. Be meticulous with grapes and raisins as too many at once can lead to kidney failure. Spoonfuls of cooked yam, green beans, peas, lentils, spinach, carrot, potato or squash are often appreciated. Reconsider saving some of these vegetables after a meal so that they can offer your dog a healthy treat the next day. Be sure to mash them up first.
Dairy or egg based

Dollops of yogurt, cottage cheese, cream cheese or sour cream often go over well, as do slices of all different types of cheeses. Pieces of cooked eggs or a very occasional raw egg can also be used to let your dog think he or she is getting something special. A plus is that eggs help a dog's skin and coat.
Simple combinations

An easy homemade dog treats recipe is to couple any item that forms a spread with some of the above.

For example, you can put peanut butter or cream cheese on any of the fruit items. Also Reconsider adding liverwurst or salad dressing (just enough to furnish flavor) to fruit, sliced cheese, hardboiled eggs, or pieces of meat. I would suggest sugar-free and sodium-free peanut butter if possible.

Although you can feed dogs things such as bread, crackers, whole kernel corn, rice and pasta, it is best only to feed these in very small amounts since their digestive theory is not designed to deal with carbohydrates. Also, if your dog eats a kibble-based diet, she/he will most likely be receiving more than enough from that food group already. Someone else qoute with some of these foodstuffs is that they tend to stick to teeth and conduce to dental problems if you do not brush your dog's teeth afterwards.

Well, those are some of my ideas for easy homemade dog treats. If your dog is not used to eating a singular type of food, try him/her with a very small whole first to make sure there are no allergies.

Use of Hot Dog Grills and Popcorn Machines

Popcorn Machines

Almost everybody loves hot, buttery popcorn, right out of the machine. There's even that extra movie popcorn flavor that you just can't get at home. Fantasize being able to offer that to your customers. Of course, your enterprise will dictate whether or not a popcorn engine is a good selection for you. While a hot bag of popcorn can be a great selection while you're walking through the toy store, department store, or at an outdoor facility, it's not always suitable for customers who need to keep their hands clean and free.

HOT DOG FLAVORED

But more places can be good opportunities for popcorn machines than you might think. Put one by the entrance and payment a small fee for fresh bagged popcorn. The smell will get those stomachs rumbling and the profit margin from popcorn is one of the top around. The preliminary speculation for the engine isn't all that high, and your popcorn engine will pay for itself pretty quickly.

The most coarse machines on the store run on power from a appropriate outlet. Popcorn machines from Anvil, one of the biggest manufacturers, are about twenty inches by sixteen and a half by twenty-seven, and weigh colse to fifty pounds. They highlight a fully stainless steel interior, and toughened glass to allow you to see the goods without worry the windows will break. A heater and warming light keep popcorn warm and fresh, and the lowest plate and tray are removable. That makes the whole engine easy to keep clean and sanitary.

Every good popcorn engine should come with a serving scoop, and have kettle and heating elements that have their own temperature limit switches. This prevents overheating. Look for nonstick kettles that are easy to load and unload - a hinge down highlight can help. Fast food stores, concessions, cafeterias, and all kinds of other businesses can benefit from a popcorn maker.

Hot Dog Grills

A hot dog grill is other excellent choice. These can cook hot dogs and other sausages attractively, and add a lot of the same benefits of a popcorn machine. However, they offer a more colossal meal to customers. You can choose from five, seven, and nine roller grills to yield everywhere from twelve to twenty-four hot dogs at once. That allows you to pick the hot dog grill that's going to be right for your situation. Larger businesses won't want to deal with an overly small hot dog grill, and smaller ones won't want to waste electricity or food.

Like popcorn machines, the majority of hot dog grills control on power from a wall outlet. Smaller grills are about twenty-three inches by ten inches by ten inches, but the larger ones can be up to twenty-three by sixteen by ten inches. Remember to check the available space before you order your hot dog grill.

A good grill will have rotating rollers to forestall fat and sausage residue from building up, and a movable drip pan that's easy to clean. They should also highlight variable temperature control. After all, it's a lot easier to make hot dogs well if you can dictate separate temperatures for the front and rear of the grill.

If you run a food connected business, it might be time to think about adding a popcorn engine or hot dog grill. These simple, easy to declare machines are inexpensive to operate, but offer a lot of possibilities. Check out the options from Anvil or other manufacturers to see if they have the engine you've been waiting for. A new popcorn engine or grill might change your business.

Monosodium Glutamate Msg - A Neurotoxin Or A safe Food Flavor Enhancer?

Msgs protection for human consumption has been widely debated for well over 50 years. Some habitancy are highly sensitive to it, while others appear not to be, and still yet, others may be and not even know they are.

Manufactured/processed monosodium glutamate is the substance in query that causes the most reactions in Msg sensitive people. So what is Msg exactly?

HOT DOG FLAVORED

It is the sodium salt of the amino acid known as glutamic acid, and a form of glutamate. Glutamate occurs naturally and is found in many living things, along with you. It is found in protein-containing foods such as cheese, milk, meat, vegetables, and spores (mushrooms).

When it is found in its natural unbound (unprocessed) form, and is not subjected to some sort of manufactured or fermented process, is not harmful for human or animal consumption. All forms of manufactured /processed glutamic acid contains contaminants, while the naturally occurring substance in nature does not.

Although most habitancy associate Msg with Chinese food, few habitancy comprehend how massively it is used in the processed food industry. It is gift in nearly every food that is manufactured. Considering how cheap and convenient it is, food manufacturers love it because they can get away with reducing the whole of real food substances by substituting with cheap fillers, add some Msg to get a 'morphine like' taste punch to the food product. It also intensifies the eating feel in not only improving the flavor of the food, but it alters color and odor of the food as well.

The lowest line, it saves them a lot of money, it allows them to sell you an inferior food product.

Msg has no nutritional value whatsoever. Like sugar, it stimulates your taste buds, development you desire the taste so much you will keep on buying the product and keep eating it. Msg changes your perception of how a food tastes. Many experts in the field of learning its harmful effects claim that it stimulates parts of the brain to furnish an addiction in much the same way as alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs do.

In other words, Msg is addictive. So, even if you do not drink alcohol or smoke, eating a lot of processed food is just as addictive as drugs, in essence your trading the satisfaction of drugs for this addictive substance in the food you eat.

Food manufacturers are no dummies, they know they have the Fda on their side, and they know using Msg will ensure repeat customers for them.

So, what is all the fuss about when it comes to the over use of Msg, and another closely connected substance called Apartame (NutriSweet)?

In assuredly hundreds of diet studies done around the world, scientists can create, and replicate the inducing of obesity in laboratory animals. Mice and rats can be made obese, without expanding their food intake by giving them Msg. Agreeing to John Erb, author of "The Slow Poisoning of America", there currently may assuredly be a chemical responsible for America's obesity and diabetic epidemic, and that chemical might just be Msg.

It has been scientifically connected to obesity over and over, and has been connected to irregular and rapid heartbeat, stomach problems, depression, fatigue, and brain problems. This is only a short list, there are many others to numerous to mention in this article.

Even knowing that most people, if given a choice, do not want Msg added to their food will not stop them from putting it in anyway. Manufacturers are on to the fact that consumers are scrutinizing food labels. They have taken on great deception practices to continue its use in food products by not directly labeling Msg as Msg. It is often private in names such as gelatin, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, yeast extract, malted barley, and rice or brown rice syrup.

The list of names is rather long and extensive. You can find out more by reading John Erb's book, or type in the hunt terms neurotoxin-Msg on a hunt motor to learn more private names on labels disguised as Msg.

I assuredly do not believe this is a conspiracy by corporate food associates to keep us sick, although some may argue with that way of thinking. I believe it is more connected to corporate greed than anything else. Greed in holding millions of dollars flowing through corporate bank accounts. Can you envision a long and complicated money trail that benefits any industries also the manufactured food business?

Another specialist in the the health damaging effects of Msg saga, is Dr. Russell Blaylock. He is the author of "Exitotoxins: The Taste That Kills". Dr. Blaylock says, "Msg basically overexcites your body cells, it over stimulates them to the point of damaging them., acting as a poison".

Avoiding Msg altogether is going to be real hard to do, but not impossible. It could take up quite a bit of your time if you let it, and until it is banned or taken out of our food provide what can you do to avoid its harmful effects?

Cooking from scratch and starting with whole foods is one way of cutting down on getting too much of this unhealthy substance. another way to keep manufactured/ processed free glutamic acid from binding to cell receptors, is to eat a diet high in raw (or lightly cooked) dark colored fruits and vegetables. They are loaded with antioxidants and are one of your best defenses against a build up of this toxic poison in your body.

And, even though I have not read this specifically, I think I would be rather safe in recommending it, an an increased water intake would be highly productive also. By drinking your body's daily requirement of water will help you immensely in the flushing out process of Msg in your system.

Not to mention also, that the mixture of expanding your fruit, vegetable, and water intake will go a long way in reducing many other major or minor health complaints you may currently have.

This clarification is assuredly beneficial in so many ways, you may just find it nothing short of incredible! You can also refuse to buy a lot of foods that consist of Msg. That is only the real message food manufacturers will understand in the long run.

Indoor Grilling at Its Best

It seems that even though we all have good intentions about getting exterior as much as we can during the summer months, sometimes it just doesn't happen. Do you ever feel that you don't have the time to surely enjoy all, or any of the wonderful summer activities that you experienced in your youth? One of the most cherished memories I have from the summers of my youth is grilling exterior and enjoying a nice burnt hot dog. That's right, I said, "Burnt". That is the fun of a grilled hot dog, chomping into something that is charred, a microscopic dry and full of that grilling flavor. In the house, sure, you can burn your hot dogs in a frying pan if you pick to, or stick it in the microwave and eat a rubberized hot dog, or the other alternative is that you can buy an indoor grill. Although, with an indoor grill you won't get the authentic flavor of an outdoor grill, at least you are still able to grill. There are many galvanic grills out there in the marketplace to pick from. I myself have a George Foreman Grill and I just surely love it!

Cooking with an indoor grill may not replace the outdoor fun of barbecuing on a big grill, but it sure comes in handy when you have no other alternative. You can grill just about any type of meat on an indoor grill that you can on an outdoor one. You can grill steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, kabobs, fish, vegetables; you name it! You can even cook up a Panini or other grilled sandwiches in no time at all!

HOT DOG FLAVORED

When purchasing an indoor grill, here are some tips on what to look for. Some of these units are open grills that will allow you to cook in a similar way as an outdoor grill. Sanyo makes a nonstick smokeless, open grill that has a large cooking surface, which sells for nearby .00 (depending on the size of the grill). Others are called touch grills (like the George Foreman Grill) that have a lid that heats up and cooks as well as the bottom plate, so that you are able to grill on both sides at the same time. Before development your purchase, think about how many habitancy you will be cooking for. If you are just cooking for yourself, you can buy one of the smaller grills, but if you have a medium to large size family, you might want to think looking a grill that has a larger cooking surface. Keep in mind though, that these grills heat up fast, cook the food very quickly, so that you are able to continuously reload the cooking exterior in a minimal whole of time. Someone else thing to watch for is that the cooking plates on the grill are easy to take off for cleaning. All grills should come with a drip pan to catch the grease and forestall a mess on your counter top.

Just remember that you don't all the time have to do things the original way in order to get enjoyment out of a grilled meal. Besides, cooking on an indoor grill is an easier, faster and healthier way to grill your food!

Rolled Fondant - The Hot New American Cake Icing

Rolled fondant is a dense smooth white sugar mass, comparable to a pie dough used for decorating cakes. Rolled Fondant can be rolled and draped over a cake. Fondant originates from the word "fondre" which means to dissolve and is named so because it melts in your mouth when eaten. Fondant may be used as a modeling paste or to form wedding cakes and fondant cakes for all occasions. Fondant is somewhat new to this country and has been gaining in recognition over the last ten years or so. Rolled Fondant has been customary in Europe and other countries for decades. The sway is spreading here as availability of ready Fondant grows. Rolled Fondant is sold to the baking and foodservice commerce in 20 lb., 5 lb. And 2 lb. Pails. Rolled Fondant products should be stored in a sealed package and will last for up to one year.

This is what the professionals do to get ready their Rolled Fondant. After removing your Fondant from the container, isolate the product into smaller pieces and situate in mixing bowl with dough hook. If you coat or spray the bowl and hook with a vegetable shortening this will put a stop to the icing from sticking and allow trouble-free discharge of product once mixed. Mix on slow speed for 1-2 minutes, kneading the icing to a smooth even uniformity. Color or flavor may be added prior blending. Of course, you can kneed the dough by hand if you do not have a mixer. Memo: Comparable to chewing gum, the gums in Rolled Fondant turn out to be more flexible and extendable once worked, this is why it is valuable to knead well before rolling out.

The adding of extra gum will make the icing more extendable, and will also trigger the product to dry faster. Ready-made Gum Paste (gumpaste) is available for this purpose and is perfect for the yield of sugar flowers and more. Gum Paste flowers can also be made well in expand of use.

Regular atmosphere climatic characteristic changes may necessitate the icing to be softened or made a slight stiffer. If you sense the need to stiffen the product, knead into the dough a slight powdered sugar. The increasing of a merge drops of glycerin to the fondant will soften the icing while the colder winter months, however once the product is stored at room climatic characteristic no add-ins or product changes should be needed.

Any time your Rolled Fondant remains exposed to the air it will dehydrate, therefore it is very valuable that the storehouse of it is proper. I propose storing it in the primary pail after use. Your covered cakes can be refrigerated and/or frozen. When doing so the cake should be kept covered or packaged, as refrigerated units often have elevated humidity which may trigger water condensation on top of the cake surface.

This is a great tool approximately settle how much fondant you will need to properly cover a cake. - Cake Diameter 6" Net Weight Required 10 oz. - Cake Diameter 8" Net Weight Required 12 oz. - Cake Diameter 10" Net Weight Required 18 oz. - Cake Diameter 12" Net Weight Required 24 oz. - Cake Diameter 14" Net Weight Required 48 oz.

Here are the typical ingredients for white/vanilla Rolled Fondant. Each constructor is distinct so do not take the following as exact fact. Sugar, corn syrup, palm oil, flavorings, gum tragacanth, titanium dioxide glycerine, cellulose, corn starch, potassium sorbate, acetic acid. The majority are also man-made with Zero grams Trans Fats, Zero grams Cholesterol, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Nut Free, and containing no animal-derived ingredients. Verify each label to make positive it is Certified Kosher.

Beautiful creations ready with Rolled Fondant have become progressively more popular with buyer and are extremely rewarding to the baker. The finest cake shops, bakeries and patisseries use Rolled Fondant and Gum Paste products to accomplish their works of edible art.

There is one brand of Rolled Fondant man-made in the United States. The name of this firm is Satin Fine Foods. Their products are made with the flavor of Americans kept in mind. Their signature flavor is unmatched. In my plan it has perfect elasticity/flexibility when rolled out, unproblematic to deal with and seemingly unbreakable. The satin-fine texture allows it to be rolled awfully thin. The product is certified Kosher Pareve.

After modeling the decorations, your pieces will dry just as you planned for. A high-quality Rolled Fondant will not over dry and crack. A high-quality Rolled Fondant seals the cake, keeping it moist and fresh while also increasing the shelf life of the cake. The completed cake may be refrigerated or icy as soon as it is covered.

How to prepare for Your New Puppy

One of the most captivating events for a family or an individual is bringing home a new puppy. Unfortunately, many citizen don't compose themselves or their home for the new arrival. There are any things that can be done to make your puppy's first few hours in its new home pleasant and enjoyable. Most of the activities are very simple and will just want a few minutes of time and attentiveness to complete.

Having the right supplies

HOT DOG FLAVORED

The following items should be purchased and set up prior to the puppy's or puppies' arrival:

* Stainless steel or rigid plastic non-tip food and water bowls

* Crate of the accepted size

* Soft, washable bedding for inside the crate

* variety of chew toys and play toys

* Leash or lead and collar of the accepted size

* Food that is the same as the puppy or puppies are currently being fed (same brand, flavor, etc)

In addition, depending on your house or puppy room area, you may also need to get some baby gates to consist of the puppy in a exact room or to preclude them from going up or down stairs.

Safety considerations

Puppies are a lot like small children: they will want to investigate everything. Puppies learn by chewing and mouthing as much as they learn by looking and smelling. By spending a bit of time puppy-proofing your home you can be assured that your puppy will be safe. The following are puppy-proofing tips:

* take off all electrical cords from the puppies' reach. This means that they may have to be disconnected from the wall and the appliance moved. Puppies may chew on the cord whether at the wall or the appliance end so it is easiest to take off the appliance to safe the cord and keep the puppy safe if the wire is plugged in.

* take off or pull up all hanging items such as tablecloths, floor distance curtains, curtain or blind pulls, hanging plants or other items that dangle temptingly in the puppies' reach. Curtain and blind pulls are especially dangerous as they can genuinely become wrapped nearby the puppies' neck.

* take off all houseplants. Many coarse houseplants are poisonous to dogs. Unless you know for sure that the plant is not poisonous take off it from the room. Most puppies will simply chew on plants, so if you want the plant to remain intact removing it's the best idea.

* take off all shoes, backpacks, leather items, remote controls, cordless phones, children's toys, stuffed animals, throw pillows or anyone else that could potentially be fun to play with.

Remember that while puppies are very energetic, you don't need to puppy proof the whole house, just the rooms that he or she will be in unsupervised. Crate training is a great way to minimize the amount of puppy proofing that needs to occur to keep your new advent safe and healthy.

Be sure that the puppy is allowed to settle into the area and that they're given accepted times to go outside to relax themselves. Puppies usually will need to go outside at least every three hours, and usually within 20 minutes of eating or drinking. After napping or after playing they'll also need to be taken outside. By allowing lots of trips outside and genuinely praising them for relieving themselves in the right area, you'll find that housetraining is not difficult.

Special care for puppies involves a lot of prevention. Be sure to get down on the floor and look nearby at what might be fun for a puppy to chew on or might pose a safety hazard. Have the food, water, toys and crate ready when your puppy gets home and you and your puppy or puppies will be off to a great start together.

production Spicy Chai Indian Style Tea at Home

Having worked for many years in the technology sector with many fine citizen of east Indian legacy and/or origin, I not only industrialized a taste for spicy hot curries and full, Indian cuisine, but also for a type of spiced tea which has become popularized in the West over the last decade or so. This is "spiced chai", or "chai tea". What is amusing is that "chai" is the name for tea. So the phrase "chai tea" is actually just a repetition in two languages. What is spiced chai? It is when you mix together strong black Indian teas with a spice blend called "tea masala". Tea masala popularly contains ginger, black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, and clove. Mint leaves can optionally be added into the mix for a pleasant flavor variation.

This is not meant to b e a recipe so I will not state amounts. I rarely work from recipes. It is more fun to just experiment. What you should do to make a proper sort of spiced chai is to get some loose Ctc cut Indian tea from an Indian store or online. Beloved Indian brands are Wagh Bakri, Taj Mahal, Lipton Red or Yellow Label (the Indian versions Not the American Lipton, which is a weak American blend unrelated to the Indian brands), or any other strong Assam black tea that you can find. The Ctc type of tea looks like dinky tiny balls. They are basically a "cut tear curl" cut of tea which infuses very well into water, making a strong black solution. Take a few cups of water and boil in a pot.

HOT DOG FLAVORED

Put in any teaspoons of this Ctc or other strong black tea and let it simmer for a few minutes with a spoon of the chai spice blend, the tea masala mentioned earlier. Let the tea and the spices mix in a slow simmer for about 5 minutes. You can now add milk (enough to lighten to a nice creamy muddy color) and turn up the heat until it hits a boil, then back off and simmer for a few minutes. You can either add sugar or sweetener to the whole batch or by the cup. This is a drink meant to be sweetened. If you do not want sugar or are diabetic, you can use artificial or other sweetener.

I prefer stevia but xylitol also works well. (xylitol can be fatal to dogs - not that you would give the chai to a dog but I mention it anyway) Now you can use a strainer to catch the loose tea leaves when you pour the hot spicy brew into cups, or a tea kettle, for serving. Indian citizen use fancy tea brewers for this whole process. If you desire strict amounts, you can actually find them online straight through any of the major crusade engines.

Spicy chai is a refreshing and lovely spiced tea drink. In India they have roadside tea stalls and vendors that sell it by the cup. Using a proper spice mix (or your own milling of the listed spices) and a good capability strong Indian Assam tea is the way to go. Do not use the pre spiced bags of tea except in dire situations when you cannot do better, like if you are at work. Tea is a wholesome drink and the spices in spiced chai are very wholesome for digestion and full, well being.

Cinnamon alone is great for holding blood sugar levels in check, especially if you sweeten your chair with stevia or other non sugar sweetener. Strong Assam tea contains many more antioxidant properties than weak market tea that many the in the West and in America think of when they think of tea. Many citizen who claim to dislike tea just never had whatever except the pathetically flavor lacking types they find in the local supermarket. A good capability black tea should look at dark as fresh brewed coffee when wholly steeped in water.

Spicy chai can open up other world of flavor sensation, and it can be as satisfying to the taste buds as an entire meal, without the fat of a full meal. Get yourself some tea masala and some Assam black tea and try it for yourself. You won't be sorry.

Side Dishes For Chili

Chili is one of those great dishes that can be served in tons of different ways and goes good with many tasty side dishes. But if you're mental about serving chili the next time you have friends over for dinner or to watch the big game or when the weather starts getting cooler, here are some great ideas you might want to use.

Making Your Chili Even Better

HOT DOG FLAVORED

Even if you already make the best chili on your block or at your tailgate parties, you could spice it up with some toppings. Of course, you'll find some of the former items on the list: shredded cheeses, sour cream, oyster crackers or crumbled tortilla shells (choose the ones with a hint of lime for an nice touch), saltine crackers, or even hot sauce.

But those are a minute bit basic. If you're talking about advanced chili topping for the chili connoisseur, then you'll want to shop around in your furnish agency or farmer's market. Adding scallions, green onions, cilantro, or avocado can give your chili a minute color and extra taste. A dollop of guacamole instead of sour cream (or with sour cream) can also be scrumptious, especially if you make it homemade. Jalapenos are also nice for a kick and should be added by the personel consumers of the chili - not everybody likes the spice. Red onion or salsa can be nice additions, too.

Not Just for Bowls

Chili isn't soup so it doesn't have to be served alone in a bowl with a spoon. Instead, get creative with how you serve this dish. You can use Fritos for dipping or pour the chili on top of a baked potato, French fries, pasta (some population even add spaghetti or macaroni pasta to their chili), rice, taco shells, hamburgers or hot dogs, cornbread, or even scrambled eggs.

Chili goes good with almost any food but make sure to account for the possible messiness. Always have extra napkins.

Great Side Dishes

When you're serving chili, it's surely hearty enough to be a main dish. And while some population like to eat their chili by itself, having some complementary side dishes can heighten the dish's flavor immensely. Cornbread is a tasty and former expanding to chili. If you're trying to give your meal a Tex-Mex flavor, you could make Mexican cornbread with peppers, some shredded Colby/Jack cheese, and some kernel corn or if you want to make it spicier you can cut up pieces of jalapeno to add into the cornbread mix.

Black bean and corn salad is someone else choice. The salad, which is served cold or at room temperature, includes black beans, cubed cheeses, roasted corn, green onions, bell peppers, picante sauce, herbs, olive oil, and a few other tasty items. You can also toss in other items you love, such as avocados.

Another idea is a Southwest Vegetable salad that includes lettuce, colorful red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and some toasted pumpkin seeds. This dish has just as much color as flavor and has a very tasty flavor especially when enjoyed along with a bowl of chili.
